Privacy Policy
Who we are
LegitCheck.ch is an independent authentication service founded and run by @Chrome.Garments, based in Geneva, Switzerland. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why, and how it's handled.
What we collect
When you submit an authentication request, we collect:
- Your full name and email address
- The price paid or intended price for your item
- Whether you already own the item or are planning to buy it
- Any notes or details you provide about the item or seller
- Photos you upload of the item
We do not collect payment card details directly — payments are handled entirely by PayPal, and we never see or store your card or bank information.
How we use it
Your information is used solely to perform the authentication you requested: reviewing your photos and details, forming our expert opinion, issuing your certificate, and contacting you about your request. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Third parties we use
To run this service, some of your data passes through the following providers, each under their own privacy policy:
- Cloudinary — hosts the photos you upload
- EmailJS — delivers your submitted details to us by email
- Airtable — stores certificate records (item, verdict, date) so they can be verified later via QR code
- PayPal — processes payment for the service
- Netlify — hosts this website
Certificate verification pages
Each certificate we issue can be looked up publicly via a QR code and a unique certificate number. This public page shows the item, our verdict, the date, and the authenticator — it does not show your name or contact details.
How long we keep it
We keep certificate records for as long as needed so they remain verifiable. Submitted request details (name, email, notes) are kept only as long as necessary to handle your request and for basic record-keeping afterward.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you at any time by contacting us on Instagram.
Cookies
This site does not currently use cookies or tracking/analytics tools.
Governing law
This policy is governed by Swiss data protection law (nFADP). If you are located in the EU, GDPR protections may also apply to you.
